Assistant Group Leader

Job overview

The Assistant Group Leader role is onsite in Boston, MA, with a flexible schedule and possible local travel during the workday. Pay is $17–$17.50 per hour. The role supports BCNC’s Red Oak After School & Summer Program, providing enrichment and care for children ages 5–13 so parents can work or pursue education. The assistant supports lesson plans, supervises children, and helps implement educational and recreational programming. The role contributes to a safe, engaging program and supports children’s learning and development alongside group leaders.

What you'll do

• Support lesson plans
• supervise children during academic and recreational activities
• assist with behavior management and programming
• help plan and run activities
• provide classroom management during activities
• maintain supplies and facilities
• prepare attendance and incident reports
• participate in parent and teacher meetings as needed
• attend staff meetings, professional development, and program events.
