Legal and Contract Operations Manager

The Legal and Contract Operations Manager role is an onsite position in South Portland, ME. Compensation is not specified. The manager reports to the General Counsel and works across legal, compliance, business operations, contracting, technology, data, and analytics at InterMed, a patient-centered primary-care organization. The role develops and improves processes for legal and transactional work and translates contract terms into practical guidance for operational teams. By building workflows, tools, and technology-enabled processes and escalating issues requiring legal expertise, the manager helps the organization manage third-party relationships and improve contracting practices.

What you'll do

• Design and improve legal and transaction workflows
• assess current practices and develop procedures, templates, playbooks, training, and escalation paths
• coordinate implementation and adoption
• review contracts and explain material terms and obligations to operational teams
• connect legal, contracting, operations, and analytics stakeholders
• coordinate contract intake and triage
• maintain contract resources
• support evaluation and implementation of contract lifecycle management technology
• identify opportunities for automation and AI
• manage and develop colleagues as described in the posting.

Why this role

Experience using AI or automation in legal, contracting, or business processes is strongly preferred. Healthcare experience is helpful but not required; a bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience is required.
