The Security Analyst, Cybersecurity Operations is an onsite position in Columbia, SC, supporting the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services Office of Cybersecurity. Compensation is $115,000–$120,000 per year. The role helps protect agency systems and networks and supports security and compliance initiatives. The analyst monitors threats, investigates incidents, assesses vulnerabilities, and helps implement security controls and compliance practices. Through technical guidance and collaboration with agency teams and vendors, the role strengthens the agency’s security posture and supports risk mitigation.

What you'll do

• Assess information security solutions, processes, systems, and networks
• provide technical guidance on secure IT systems
• support SOC monitoring, alert analysis, threat detection, and incident response
• conduct threat hunting and vulnerability assessments
• manage and monitor firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and network security tools
• analyze network traffic using TCP/IP, Wireshark, and tcpdump
• support security controls and compliance frameworks including NIST, COBIT, and FedRAMP
• assist with RMF and SDLC security activities
• collaborate with agency teams and vendors.
