Orientation Therapist

The Orientation Therapist role is onsite in Salt Lake City, UT, and pays $35–$45 per hour. First Step House helps people build lives of meaning, purpose, and recovery. The therapist provides clinical and therapeutic support to people navigating substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health challenges. Through individualized treatment planning, therapy, group facilitation, documentation, and coordination with the treatment team, the role supports clients’ recovery goals and access to appropriate services.

What you'll do

• Develop and update individualized treatment plans
• conduct individual therapy
• facilitate addiction-related psychotherapy groups and life-skills classes
• use evidence-based approaches including CBT, MI, and REBT
• apply ASAM criteria to treatment recommendations
• complete clinical documentation and funding requests in the EHR
• support case-management needs
• collaborate with clinical staff and community partners
• maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
