The Tribal Attorney role is onsite in Deming, WA, with an hourly rate of $61.09–$75.12. The attorney works in the Nooksack Indian Tribe’s Office of Tribal Attorney, advising and representing the Tribe and its governmental departments and entities. At the direction of the Senior Tribal Attorney, the role provides legal advice, prepares and handles cases, and drafts or reviews legal documents. The work supports tribal governance and legal matters in tribal, state, and federal forums, including court proceedings, administrative hearings, and legal research and writing.

What you'll do

• Advise and represent the Tribal Council, governmental departments, and separate entities
• review, negotiate, and draft contracts, resolutions, codes, policies, and other legal documents
• manage cases through trial in criminal and civil matters
• conduct legal research and prepare memoranda, contracts, and pleadings.

Why this role
