What you'll do
- The Nuclear Medicine (NM) Technologist performs general nuclear medicine and PET CT exams providing the highest level of customer service and image quality.
- The NM tech also receives, calibrates, logs, administers and monitors the decay of radioactive isotopes following appropriate policies, procedures and radiation safety practices.
- You will perform nuclear medicine exams following protocols and in a timely manner, ensuring a high quality of care.
- You will receive, calibrate, log, administer and monitor the decay of radioactive isotopes.
- You will provide radiation safety support in the event of a radiation incident/spill You will maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
- You will record patients' medical information You will coordinate patient flow and check the daily list to ensure all exams are complete.
- You will inform the patient about the procedure and answer questions.
- You will interact and professionally communicate with co-workers, physicians, patients, and family members.
- You will maintain all licenses, certifications, and accreditations required as outlined in Job Qualifications.
- You will adhere to the facility ICARE values.
- You will prepare patients for and assist with examinations or treatments.
- You will prepare education the patient on discharge instructions You will demonstrate the ability to perform technical skills and procedures.
- You will be knowledgeable in the handling of radioactive materials.
- You will demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care of patients appropriate to the ages of patients served.
- You will properly measure radioactive waste and know how to dispose of it properly in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
