Principal Software Engineer, Tabletop Platform

The Principal Software Engineer, Tabletop Platform role is onsite in Austin, TX; compensation is not specified. The role supports Fandom’s Tabletop product team, building web experiences for millions of users. This technical leader owns an engineering area’s architecture and systems design, leads engineers on complex projects, and helps scale the platform. The role also contributes to the migration from a monolithic stack to microservices and works with Data Science and engineering teams on product improvements.

What you'll do

• Own the technical area’s architecture and systems design
• lead engineers in discovering and implementing solutions
• provide technical leadership for projects spanning teams, technologies, and systems
• lead large projects or significant project components
• identify risks and opportunities to improve engineering methods and technologies
• influence engineering strategy
• work with Data Science to scale the Tabletop platform
• support migration from a monolithic stack to microservices.
