Personnel Security Specialist II

The Personnel Security Specialist II is a hybrid role based in Reston, VA; compensation is $75,000–$85,000 per year. The position supports client organizations with personnel security actions and compliance. The specialist manages sensitive security records, inquiries, and incidents, helping clients meet personnel security requirements, mitigate risk, and maintain accurate, audit-ready documentation.

What you'll do

• Maintain personnel security data in DISS, ACCS, NBIS, and internal systems
• process clearance nomination packages, including Public Trust and SCI as required
• respond to client inquiries and provide process and compliance guidance
• support government communications
• investigate personnel security incidents and conduct administrative inquiries
• process foreign travel notifications, self-reports, and adverse information disclosures
• support Insider Threat reporting
• coordinate special access, badges, facility access, polygraph scheduling, and related documentation
• assist with NISP compliance, DD254 reviews, self-inspections, training, and audit-ready records
• provide higher-level support and serve as an escalation point for complex issues.
