The Head Start Lead Preschool Teacher role is onsite in Council Bluffs, IA, with compensation of $18.72 per hour. West Central Community Action is seeking a teacher for a Council Bluffs Head Start classroom. The teacher creates a safe, engaging learning environment and directs daily educational activities for preschool children. What you'll do

• Create and manage a warm, challenging learning environment
• direct daily educational activities
• coordinate and approve child activities
• incorporate early intervention, learning, and care activities
• maintain a safe environment
• keep attendance, nutrition, in-kind, and other records
• follow Head Start standards and policies
• report suspected child abuse when required
• attend child-related meetings
• recruit, train, and supervise classroom volunteers
• create schedules and developmentally appropriate lesson plans using curriculum and assessment data
• maintain positive family relationships
• complete behavior incident reports as needed.

Why this role
