The Independent Living Skills/Mental Health Worker works as part of an Intensive Residential Treatment Services team, providing care, treatment, and rehabilitation for individuals experiencing significant mental health/psychiatric symptoms and functional impairments.

What you'll do

• Provides assistance to person(s) served to promote their physical, social, and psychological well-being.
• Interacts frequently and positively with person(s) served and support staff.
• Assists Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioners with requested needs.
• Follows agency procedures for health care, safety, and behavioral supports.
• Performs administrative duties.
• Oversees meal preparation and grocery shopping.
• Cleans the environment.
• Transports clients.
• Manages food/cleaning budget.
• Provides group and individual services.
• Teaches clients independent living skills.
• Develops and maintains cooperative working relationships.
• Provides financial management for program operations.
• Ensures compliance with regulations and policies.
• Administers and monitors medication.
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
• Manages the therapeutic environment and crisis prevention.
• Develops and participates in recreational activities.
• Completes all documentation.

What we're looking for

Education

GED or High School Diploma

Experience

GED or High School Diploma with 2,000 supervised hours in the delivery of services to adults with serious mental illness.
