The Hydro Excavation Lead Driver is an onsite, full-time role in West Valley City, UT. Pay is $28–$40 per hour, depending on experience. The role leads field crews on excavation and hydro-excavation projects for HydroHog. The position combines commercial vehicle and excavation-equipment operation with crew leadership, utility-locating support, and coordination with customers, contractors, municipalities, and utility companies. It helps ensure field projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards and applicable regulations.

What you'll do

• Operate commercial vehicles and excavation equipment
• lead and supervise field crews on daily projects
• perform hydro excavation and utility-locating support as assigned
• transport equipment, materials, and water
• complete vehicle inspections and required Department of Transportation documentation
• follow OSHA, DOT, company, and other applicable safety requirements
• read utility locates, site plans, and work orders
• coordinate with customers, contractors, municipalities, and utility companies
• maintain job reports and equipment inspections
• report maintenance concerns
• assist with excavation, cleanup, and other field duties.
