Diesel Mechanic

The Diesel Mechanic role is an onsite position based in Fort Wayne, IN, with a pay range of $27-$35/hr. This role supports the GFL Environmental fleet maintenance team, ensuring the reliability of heavy-duty refuse trucks and equipment. The role exists to perform critical diagnostic, repair, and preventative maintenance tasks on heavy-duty diesel vehicles. By maintaining hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems, the mechanic ensures that the fleet remains operational and safe for daily service.

What you'll do

• Perform daily inspections, diagnose issues, troubleshoot problems, and complete repairs on Diesel Refuse Trucks.
• Repair and troubleshoot hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, PTO systems, and other truck components.
• Perform preventative maintenance and complete repairs to ensure fleet vehicles are ready for daily operation.
