The Structural Engineer — Manufactured and Modular Buildings role is onsite in Elkhart, IN. Compensation is not specified. Cavco Industries designs and produces factory-built homes, park model RVs, vacation cabins, and factory-built commercial structures. The engineer develops structural designs and analyses that meet applicable codes and support manufacturing operations, drafting, and product development. The role also works with internal teams and regulatory and code-enforcement organizations to address design approvals, production issues, and continuous improvement.

What you'll do

• Design structural systems and components for manufactured homes, modular homes, and commercial modular buildings
• perform structural analyses and calculations for applicable loads
• maintain design standards, manuals, templates, and details
• review plans for code and company-standard compliance
• collaborate with drafting personnel
• provide technical guidance
• coordinate with code-enforcement agencies
• conduct manufacturing-facility engineering audits
• investigate production or field issues
• support product development and continuous improvement
• prepare calculations, reports, specifications, and documentation. Active P.E. holders review and seal documents where required.
