Job overview

The Trauma Therapist – EMPACT role is an onsite, full-time position based two days per week at the Glendale Family Advocacy Center in Glendale, AZ, and the rest of the week at EMPACT Tempe Children’s Center. Compensation is not specified. EMPACT provides behavioral health counseling, crisis intervention, and suicide prevention services. The therapist provides psychotherapy, crisis stabilization, and related support to individuals and families affected by crime. The role contributes to continuity of care through assessment, treatment, referrals, collaboration with agency and community partners, and accurate clinical documentation.

What you'll do

  • Provide community-based psychotherapy and follow-up for crime victims in individual and group settings
  • assess, diagnose, and treat clients
  • identify advocacy and assistance needs and make referrals
  • coordinate crisis intervention and stabilization with agency and community partners
  • maintain client records and required documentation
  • provide assigned training and special projects.

Why this role

Requires a master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related field and associate-level Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners licensure or higher, or licensure within six months. On-call work is required; evening and night hours may be required.
