Construction Specifications Engineer

The Construction Specifications Engineer role is onsite in Vancouver, WA. Compensation is not specified. The position supports BPA Transmission’s construction specification standards and related project teams. The role develops, maintains, and improves construction specifications and supporting systems so project teams can prepare consistent, compliant solicitation packages. It coordinates subject-matter and stakeholder reviews, maintains specification libraries and records, and provides guidance and training on standards and tools.

What you'll do

• Meet with subject-matter experts and research standards and regulations
• draft or update specification sections
• compare drafts with BPA policies
• coordinate reviews and document feedback
• maintain specification libraries in SharePoint and ProjectWise
• support five-year reviews
• assist project teams with specifications, drawings, and solicitation packages
• recommend design-standard improvements
• develop and deliver training materials
• maintain tracking systems, forms, databases, and portals
• support records compliance and audit preparation
• use AI tools to identify inconsistencies across standards.

Why this role

Requires an ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree in a listed engineering discipline or architecture, five years of engineering/architecture experience, five years of practical construction-field engineering experience, and three years using CSI standards and database-type specification software.
