The Weather Observer role is onsite in Portsmouth, NH; pay is $37–$41 per hour. The position provides weather-observing and meteorological watch services in support of Air National Guard and Army National Guard airfield operations. The role augments automated weather systems and provides accurate, timely observations and operational reporting. It supports airfield operations by monitoring weather conditions and equipment, disseminating warnings and observations, and maintaining required records and coordination.

What you'll do

• Observe, record, encode, and disseminate surface weather observations, including METAR/SPECI
• issue, extend, cancel, or relay weather watches and warnings
• monitor meteorological and communications equipment
• maintain logs and records
• support backup dissemination procedures
• perform barometer comparisons and operator-level maintenance
• support flight information publication accuracy, weather orientation, severe-weather response, reporting, training, and quality control.
