Spiritual Care Counselor / Chaplain, Hospice PRN

The Spiritual Care Counselor / Chaplain, Hospice PRN role is onsite in El Centro, CA, with coverage in El Centro and surrounding areas; remote or virtual work is not offered. Pay is $30–$40 per hour plus mileage reimbursement. The role supports AccentCare’s hospice patients and families through compassionate spiritual care. The counselor assesses spiritual needs, responds to patients and families, and supports them through anticipatory grief and bereavement after death. The role also serves as a liaison to the family’s faith community and supports clergy or other spiritual caregivers in relation to a patient’s terminal illness.

What you'll do

• Complete spiritual-needs assessments for hospice patients and their families of choice
• support families and communities through anticipatory grief and post-death bereavement
• serve as liaison to the patient and family’s faith community
• respond to patient and family needs
• support clergy and other spiritual caregivers
• build caring relationships that help people draw on identified strengths and support.
