What you'll do

• Supervise nursing care in accordance with long-term-care rules and guidelines
• ensure nursing staff follow organizational policies and procedures
• implement resident care plans
• conduct assessments and develop care plans
• communicate with residents, staff, families, visitors, and other disciplines
• report resident condition changes to the Director of Nursing
• investigate and document incidents
• coordinate new nursing staff orientation
• evaluate emergencies
• participate in facility surveys
• admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required
• complete records and reports
• receive and record physician phone orders
• administer ordered medications and treatments
• maintain medication and narcotic records
• and report discrepancies.
