What you'll do

• Distribute, level, and smooth hot asphalt using rakes, lutes, and shovels
• work with the paving crew to achieve grade, depth, and uniformity
• prepare and clean job sites
• support paver and roller operators by adjusting mat edges and filling low spots
• monitor material temperature and report issues
• maintain hand tools
• follow safety, PPE, and traffic control guidelines
• perform general labor as needed.
