Psychiatrist Consultant

Job overview

The Psychiatrist Consultant role is fully remote, with rare onsite presence in Staten Island or Brooklyn as needed. Pay is $150–$175 per hour. The psychiatrist works with the Enhanced Family Foster Care department at Seamen’s Society for Children and Families, which provides services to children and families in New York City. The psychiatrist provides direct psychiatric services to children and adolescents, including evaluations, developmental assessments, and medication management. The role contributes to coordinated treatment planning through clinical documentation, multidisciplinary collaboration, and crisis intervention when needed.

What you'll do

• Provide psychiatric services and medication management for children and adolescents
• complete psychiatric evaluations, mental health developmental assessments, and required documentation
• maintain records of clinical contacts
• advise multidisciplinary teams on diagnostic considerations and level of care
• participate in meetings and case conferences for high-risk cases
• collaborate with A29-I staff
• provide crisis intervention services as needed
• guide and support youth and families.

Why this role

Requires an active New York DEA license, medical degree and active medical license, completed child psychiatry residency, and at least two years of AACAP training. Must be available after school hours, Monday through Friday.
