Early Head Start Home Visitor. This is an onsite position in Anne Arundel County, MD. Compensation is not specified. The Y of Central Maryland is a charitable, mission-driven organization. As a Y Head Start Family Home Visitor, you will provide child development services, social services, health services, parent support, and parent involvement services to families through home visits, socializations, advocacy, and crisis intervention, adhering to Head Start Performance Standards and Y of Central Maryland Child Care Philosophy. You will implement a family-centered approach to assist families in building on their strengths and developing partnership agreements. The role involves providing resources on child development and parenting education, conducting developmental screenings, and developing individual learning plans for each child with parental assistance.

What you'll do

• Provide child development services, social services, health services, parent support and parent involvement services to families including home visits, socializations, advocacy and crisis intervention in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards, Y of Central Maryland Child Care Philosophy and local licensing regulations.
• Implement a family centered approach to assist families to build on their strengths and develop family partnership agreements to support families in identifying their concerns, priorities, and resources.
• Provide resources on child development, parenting education and family support on home visits to families of infants/toddlers and pregnant women.
• Conduct developmental screenings and ongoing assessments of infants and toddlers to determine motor, language, social, cognitive and emotional skills and will develops an individual learning plan for each child with parental assistance.

What we're looking for

Education

A bachelors or associates degree in child development, education, social sciences or related field

Experience

At least 2 years prior experience working with children and families in a human service setting
