The role establishes and manages efficient laboratory operations, overseeing testing, staff, equipment, quality assurance, safety, and productivity. It helps deliver accurate testing and reports to public and private clients while maintaining accreditation requirements and meeting laboratory deadlines.

What you'll do

• Set up and manage daily operations of the new geotechnical and construction materials testing laboratory
• supervise staff
• perform and oversee testing and submit results
• generate and review laboratory reports
• organize workload and address workflow bottlenecks
• oversee testing procedures, equipment calibration, maintenance, procurement, and repairs
• maintain the Quality Management System and AASHTO and FDOT accreditation
• track weekly KPIs and billing
• oversee safety, SOPs, inventory, and housekeeping
• communicate with clients, contractors, and staff
• support client relationships. Weekend and overtime work is required as needed
• limited overnight and interstate travel may be required.
