Applications Engineer I

The Applications Engineer I role is onsite in Irving, TX, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Compensation is $80,000–$105,000 per year. The role supports customer, sales, and trade-show applications for CNC machines at DMG MORI. Working under direct supervision, the engineer develops and tests CNC machining applications, prepares demonstrations and technical documentation, and communicates with customers and internal technical staff. The work helps customers evaluate machine capabilities and supports successful part processing.

What you'll do

• Provide technical support in person and by phone for customers, sales, and trade shows
• conduct time studies, test cuts, and machine demonstrations
• compile fixtures and workholding
• estimate processing times and calculate speeds and feeds
• generate CNC programs using CAPPS, CAM systems, and G-code/macros
• set up machines and inspect finished parts
• prepare engineering reports and technical documentation
• communicate with technical staff, customers, and suppliers.
