What you'll do

• Prepare and cook meats, fish, poultry, vegetables, soups, desserts, modified-diet foods, and casseroles according to standard recipes.
• Prepare sufficient quantities for service, time preparation to schedules, estimate food needs, use leftovers, and present food attractively.
• Handle and store food safely, standardize recipes and portions, requisition supplies, supervise and instruct kitchen workers, clean work areas and equipment, and coordinate kitchen functioning with managers and the dietitian.
• Follow Dietary Department policies and applicable regulations and safety procedures.
