The Family Practice and Urgent Care Physician role is onsite in Mescalero, NM, at the Indian Health Mescalero Service Unit. Compensation is $160–$200 per hour. The physician supports outpatient and urgent care services at the Mescalero Service Unit. The physician provides comprehensive care across age groups, makes clinical decisions, responds to emergencies, and coordinates care with the Clinical Director, medical staff, and consultants. The role also contributes to community health initiatives and continuity of services.

What you'll do

• Provide direct outpatient and urgent care to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
• deliver therapeutic, preventive, and emergency services, including home and community-based care for COVID-positive patients and families
• evaluate, diagnose, and plan treatment
• interpret x-ray and laboratory results
• coordinate care
• stabilize patients and arrange transfer when needed
• document in the EHR in accordance with HIPAA
• participate in quality assurance, risk management, and peer review
• contribute to public health and community outreach
• follow infection-control standards and medical staff requirements.
