What you'll do

• Perform pre-admission screenings by telephone and onsite
• maintain patient charts and nursing documentation
• conduct physical assessments
• monitor drug and alcohol withdrawal and administer medications under physician orders
• evaluate and document medical problems and report them to the Medical Director or on-call physician
• follow infection-control precautions and sharps procedures
• maintain a safe and sanitary nurse’s station
• participate in case reviews and in-service training
• conduct patient education on addiction, health maintenance, and recovery.
