Direct Support Professional (DSP)

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) position is onsite in Allentown, PA. Compensation is $17 per hour. East Penn Human Services supports people with intellectual disabilities and/or autism in pursuing independence, choice, and meaningful, dignified lives. The DSP assists individuals with daily living and personal care, supports health and safety, and helps people participate in community life. The role also includes medication documentation, progress records, transportation, and communication with supervisors, families, and friends.

What you'll do

• Support cooking and meal preparation, grocery shopping, feeding, personal care, hygiene, and housekeeping
• administer and document medications and related protocols
• write service notes and maintain progress records
• report changes in condition to the home supervisor
• promote health, safety, wellness, and rights
• support access to community resources and relationships
• transport individuals to appointments, errands, recreation, work sites, and day programs.
