The Water Operator role is onsite in Laurel, MS, with compensation of $16–$20 per hour based on experience and certifications. The role helps maintain reliable water distribution and sewer collection systems by operating, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing infrastructure, monitoring system performance, collecting samples, and responding to service issues. Accurate records and adherence to safety procedures and regulations support dependable utility operations.

What you'll do

• Operate, maintain, and repair water distribution and sewer collection infrastructure
• inspect and repair lines, valves, hydrants, service connections, and related equipment
• assist with locating, repairing, and replacing damaged lines
• install, read, test, repair, and replace water meters
• monitor system performance for leaks, blockages, and malfunctions
• collect samples and perform routine testing
• safely operate tools and equipment
• respond to customer requests and emergencies
• maintain records, work orders, and logs
• follow safety procedures and applicable regulations.

Why this role

Class C Water Operator License is preferred but not required; ability to obtain certification after hire is required. High school diploma or GED and valid driver's license are required.
