What you'll do

• Provide and direct basic life support
• recognize medical emergencies and perform physical examinations
• address medical and emotional needs of patients
• direct first responders at emergency scenes
• document patient care and information
• communicate with hospital physicians and follow written protocols when a physician cannot be reached
• transport patients
• operate emergency vehicles safely
• maintain equipment and records
• perform technical rescues as needed.
