What you'll do

• Follow the client’s plan of care and written supervisor instructions
• provide only the functions specified for each client
• document observations and services in the client record
• report changes in a client’s condition or home situation to the supervisor or nurse. Depending on demonstrated competency, personal care aides may assist with medication reminders, housekeeping, grooming and dressing, meal preparation and eating, oral hygiene, toileting, arranging medical or dental care and transportation, recording oral temperatures, emergency first aid, and social interaction.
