The Registered Nurse (RN) — Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) role is onsite at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX. Pay is $43–$47 per hour. The role supports care at a military medical center serving service members, families, veterans, and civilian emergency patients. The nurse provides pre- and post-anesthesia patient care, assesses needs, develops and documents individualized care plans, and coordinates with the interdisciplinary team. The position contributes to safe, patient-centered care and quality improvement in a 24/7 clinical operation.

What you'll do

• Provide hands-on pre- and post-anesthesia care, including medication management, wound care, mobility assistance, and treatments
• assess patients and develop and document care plans
• administer IV therapy and medications
• perform tests and diagnostic procedures
• educate patients and families
• respond to emergencies
• communicate with the care team
• follow infection-control and privacy requirements
• operate and troubleshoot patient-care equipment
• maintain timely electronic medical records.

Why this role
