Behavioral Health Specialist, Acute Treatment Services

The Behavioral Health Specialist, Acute Treatment Services role is onsite in Roxbury, MA, for 30 hours per week and pays $21–$25 per hour, depending on experience, education, licensure, and training. The Dimock Center’s behavioral health programs provide residential and outpatient treatment for people living with mental illness, developmental disabilities, or substance use disorders. The specialist supports patients with substance use disorders during detox and early recovery, working with nursing staff to promote safe, evidence-based, compassionate care. The role contributes to daily program operations and supports clients through admission, treatment, and discharge.

• Engage clients professionally and respectfully
• support client safety and program structure
• assist with safety checks, room searches, admissions, and discharges
• conduct intakes and documentation
• observe and report changes in health or behavior and use de-escalation skills
• assist with daily needs and meals
• facilitate recovery-focused groups
• participate in meetings, training, and program development.
