Lead Engineer – Substations

Job overview

The Lead Engineer – Substations role is based at a client’s office in Binghamton, NY, with an annual salary range of $75,000–$120,000. LaBella Associates’ Program Management Services Division provides management, project, financial, administrative, and technical support for complex projects and capital programs. The engineer leads substation project engineering and provides technical direction across project phases, from scoping and design through construction and closeout. The role helps ensure designs meet applicable standards while guiding engineers, designers, and contractors on complex projects.

What you'll do

• Oversee project engineering across scoping, budgeting, conceptual engineering, contract management, design, construction, and closeout
• perform engineering analyses, designs, and calculations
• create conceptual designs based on Avangrid standards
• oversee external detailed designers
• ensure designs meet company and applicable local, state, and national codes
• guide and mentor engineers
• serve as subject matter expert
• liaise with contractors on policies, standards, and best practices.
