Driver Trainee

The Driver Trainee role is an onsite position based in Spotswood, NJ. Compensation is not specified beyond a $320 daily guarantee plus case pay, and this role supports the US Foods distribution team in the Metro NY area. This role exists to train individuals to safely operate commercial vehicles, deliver products to customers, and provide professional customer service. The trainee will learn to manage delivery schedules, handle customer collections, and perform equipment inspections to ensure operational success.

What you'll do

• Safely drive trucks to customers and meet scheduled customer delivery times.
• Carefully unload products from the trailer with a two-wheeler, pallet jack, or by hand and place in designated customer storage areas.
• Verify accuracy of delivery with customers and obtain proper signatures.
• Handle collections and payments from customers when applicable.
• Professionally perform customer service responsibilities to enhance our client experience.
• Perform all pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspection.
