What you'll do

• Admit and prepare patients for surgery
• perform nursing admission and post-operative assessments
• notify the anesthesiologist or surgeon of abnormalities
• verify required chart paperwork
• teach patients about procedures and discharge instructions
• report pertinent information to the OR nurse
• assist with pre-op medications and local or topical anesthesia
• coordinate discharge
• perform pre- and post-operative calls
• maintain supplies and equipment
• assist with laser patients and inventory
• document narcotic use and patient care.
