French-Speaking Montessori School Assistant

The French-Speaking Montessori School Assistant role is onsite in Washington, DC. Compensation is $20–$22 per hour. The assistant supports the Montessori School of Chevy Chase’s child-centered early education program and bilingual classroom environment. The role helps lead teachers maintain a prepared, nurturing classroom and supports children’s learning, safety, and development. By communicating in French, guiding children through routines, and observing progress, the assistant contributes to an inclusive environment that encourages children to explore and grow at their own pace.

What you'll do

• Support lead Montessori teachers
• communicate with students in French
• guide and supervise children during recess and transitions
• prepare and maintain Montessori materials and the classroom
• observe and document student progress and developmental milestones
• build relationships with students, families, and staff
• help maintain a safe, inclusive classroom
• provide bathroom assistance and change diapers when necessary.
