Job overview

The Assistant Stage Manager role is an onsite, full-time touring position for Blue Man Group’s North American production, with tour dates from October through December 2026. The assistant stage manager supports the Production Stage Manager and stage management department in daily show operations, backstage coordination, and technical support. The role helps maintain performance consistency, safety, and quality, and serves as show caller when the Production Stage Manager is absent.

What you'll do

  • Call performances as assigned
  • when calling, chair daily Circle Meetings, conduct soundcheck, review prior-show notes, and coordinate follow-up with performers and technical departments
  • lead communication and show integrity when the Production Stage Manager is absent
  • attend post-show notes sessions and complete show reports when calling
  • manage the deck and maintain prop presets, running tracks, and prop maintenance
  • brief front-of-house staff
  • assist with load-ins, loadouts, props, instruments, consumables, and the stage management trailer
  • support press and promotional events
  • enforce health, safety, emergency, and hazard protocols.
