What you'll do

• Drives a tandem trailer, tractor trailer, and/or straight truck on intrastate and interstate routes for transporting empty trailers to warehouse locations.
• Turns around and delivers full trailers with various products to domicile/shuttle yard locations safely and timely per DOT regulations.
• Communicates professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
• Functions as a team member.
• Performs all required safety checks (pre/post trip) and inspections.
• Reports safety issues and repairs.
• Follows DOT regulations and company safe driving policies.
• Inspects trailer for proper freight loading and security.
• Ensures required route paperwork is available.
• Drives and delivers trailers per schedule.
• Performs hook/unhook procedures per safety guidelines.
• Parks and stores tractor trailers.
• Ensures equipment and freight are locked and secured.
• Collects and secures damaged goods and customer returns.
• Unloads equipment, materials, and removes trash from trailers.
• Completes daily record of hours of service.
• Performs general housekeeping duties.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
