The Founding Senior HR Generalist, People Operations Lead role is onsite in San Francisco, CA, five days per week in Dogpatch. Compensation is $160,000–$185,000 per year plus competitive equity. The role is the first dedicated HR hire for a venture-backed AI company and establishes core HR operations as the company grows. The role owns day-to-day HR operations, including employee lifecycle processes, compliance, benefits, payroll coordination, and HR systems. It builds scalable processes and may expand into broader people programs such as performance management, manager enablement, and employee experience as the function matures.
What you'll do
- Own onboarding, role changes, offboarding, and terminations
- maintain employment documentation
- keep Rippling HRIS accurate
- manage HR processes with vendors and outside counsel
- apply California employment law knowledge
- administer benefits and provider relationships
- partner with Finance on payroll accuracy and compliance
- document scalable HR workflows
- take on broader people programs as the function matures.

Why this role
