Resident Engineer — Transportation Infrastructure

The Resident Engineer role is onsite in Newark, NJ, with compensation of $70–$90 per hour. KS Engineers provides transportation and public infrastructure construction services, and this position leads resident engineering inspection teams on highway and bridge capital projects. The role oversees construction inspection and project delivery on behalf of the owner, ensuring work conforms to contract plans and specifications and meets safety and quality requirements. It coordinates project staff, contractors, clients, and public agencies while managing technical reviews, documentation, schedules, and project administration.

What you'll do

• Lead resident engineering inspection teams on transportation construction projects
• supervise inspection staff and serve as the owner’s onsite representative
• oversee quality assurance, safety, and conformance with plans and specifications
• review design documents and construction changes
• process RFIs, submittals, change orders, quantities, and contractor payments
• manage project reporting, staff assignments, and coordination with clients, contractors, agencies, and consultants.
