Full-Time Equine Sports Medicine Veterinary Assistant/Technician

Job overview

The Full-Time Equine Sports Medicine Veterinary Assistant/Technician role is onsite in Berthoud, CO, with a Sunday–Thursday schedule and a rotating holiday schedule. Compensation is $18–$24 per hour. Front Range Equine Performance is an equine sports medicine and rehabilitation practice serving horses across disciplines. The role supports veterinary and rehabilitation care so daily practice and barn operations run smoothly. Work includes basic exams, medication administration, feeding and stall care, mobility exercises and treatments, handwalking, and assisting with rehabilitation equipment and patient training. If able to drive a horse trailer, the employee may be asked to join rotating on-call weekend and night emergency trailering.

What you'll do

• Perform basic physical exams and administer medications
• feed hay and grain and clean stalls
• perform dynamic mobility exercises, treatments, and handwalking
• assist with training patients to use the Vitafloor, solarium, and water treadmill
• communicate effectively with clients and the team
• work in varied weather and participate in the rotating weekend schedule and rotational holiday schedule. If able to drive a horse trailer, may participate in rotating on-call weekend and night emergency trailering.
