Job overview

The Certified Teacher position is onsite in Atlantic Beach, FL, generally Monday through Friday for 2.5 to 3 hours per day between 2 PM and 7 PM; pay is $25 per hour. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida role supports youth academic goals and high school graduation. The teacher provides tutoring, homework assistance, and reading enrichment for members ages 6 to 18. The role also plans academic activities, supervises youth, maintains a safe and positive program environment, and reports on program activities and outcomes.

What you'll do

• Provide individual tutoring and homework assistance
• assist volunteers with tutoring
• plan and facilitate activities connected to homework
• tutor students identified as below grade level or with below-average test scores in language, reading, math, or science
• help with assignments and projects
• supervise members and promote safety
• plan and organize program activities
• monitor program achievement and recommend modifications
• maintain program supplies and cleanliness
• prepare weekly reports and daily schedules.
