The Electrical Engineer, Professional Engineer (PE) role is onsite in Charlotte, NC. Compensation is listed as $90,000–$120,000+ per year. The role supports DeVita & Associates’ Charlotte branch and its building and infrastructure projects. The engineer leads electrical design and coordination for building projects, helping deliver coordinated, code-compliant systems across commercial, institutional, industrial, healthcare, and multifamily work. The role also supports project quality through calculations, design reviews, construction administration, and communication with clients and project partners.

What you'll do

• Design electrical systems, including AC power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and building support systems
• lead assigned electrical design efforts
• supervise and check electrical designers’ work
• coordinate with clients, contractors, code officials, utilities, project managers, designers, and other disciplines
• prepare and review engineering calculations
• research equipment and system requirements
• perform energy-code analysis
• seal drawings where appropriately licensed
• conduct due-diligence field work
• prepare specifications
• review submittals and shop drawings
• respond to RFIs
• inspect construction and prepare field reports
• apply applicable codes and standards
• attend project meetings and present technical information.
