The Ground Systems Engineer II – Fluids role is onsite in Wallops Island, VA. Compensation is not specified. The role supports Rocket Lab’s Neutron launch vehicle and its ground systems. This engineer leads design, build, and activation work for fluid systems that support Neutron, helping ensure launch infrastructure is reliable and ready for missions. The work spans system design and analysis, supplier and team coordination, launch-pad fluid-system certification support, and maintenance-program development.

What you'll do

• Design fluid systems for cryogenics, hydraulics, fuels, high-pressure gases, and HVAC
• create 2D and 3D CAD models using NX
• perform system sizing and analysis
• generate and maintain P&IDs and connection diagrams
• select components and maintain bills of materials
• work with suppliers and internal teams
• support launch-pad fluid-system certification and maintenance-program development.
