The Purchasing Agent role is onsite and reports to one of the listed locations: Atlanta, GA; Birmingham, AL; Charlotte, NC; Tampa, FL; or Nashville, TN. The listed pay is $20–$25 per hour. The Building People supports customer needs through government purchasing and contracting work. The role exists to place government orders against established contracts and carry out pre-award and post-award contracting actions at or below the Simplified Acquisition Threshold. It contributes to compliant procurement by applying purchasing procedures and regulations to acquire supplies, services, and construction and by evaluating prices for reasonableness.

What you'll do

• Place government orders against established contracts and government sources of supply

• use purchasing procedures to acquire supplies, services, and construction
• apply applicable regulations and agency policies
• evaluate prices for reasonableness using references such as price lists, government estimates, and prior history
• use procurement software and systems to exchange and process information.
