Controller – Commercial Property Management

Job overview

The Controller – Commercial Property Management role is onsite in Seattle, WA. Compensation is $140,000–$180,000 plus bonus. The employer is a real estate investment, development, and property management firm with a portfolio of 11 commercial properties. Reporting to the CFO, the Controller oversees accounting and financial operations, strengthens controls and processes, and provides accurate reporting and analysis to support leadership and portfolio decisions.

What you'll do

• Oversee accounting and financial operations for commercial properties
• lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close
• prepare and analyze financial statements and variance reports
• manage property accounting, tenant billing, collections, and lease accounting
• lead budgeting and forecasting
• oversee cash flow, debt, CAM reconciliations, taxes, and reimbursements
• maintain controls and GAAP compliance
• coordinate audits and tax filings
• lead accounting staff
• and improve workflows and Yardi-enabled reporting.

Why this role

Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience and 8–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including commercial property management accounting. Yardi experience preferred.
