What you'll do

• Accompany and advocate for patients
• administer medications and provide wound care and other essential care
• develop, implement, and modify nursing care plans
• assess patient needs and coordinate with physicians and departments
• may oversee telemetry staff when assigned
• assume charge-nurse responsibilities when assigned
• support infection control and quality assurance
• monitor patient changes and document care
• explain procedures and teach patients and families
• prepare patients for procedures and assist physicians
• perform hourly rounding, with rounds every two hours between 2200 and 0700.
