Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician position is onsite in DeKalb, IL. Pay is $25–$30 per hour, commensurate with experience. The role supports the upkeep and functionality of Terraces at DeKalb, helping maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable residential community for residents. The technician responds to maintenance requests, performs preventive maintenance and repairs, and prepares apartments for move-in. The role also supports grounds and common-area upkeep, vendor oversight, inventory organization, and safety compliance as part of the property management team.

What you'll do

• Respond to resident maintenance requests and document work
• perform inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, and other building systems
• complete apartment make-ready tasks
• repair structural and aesthetic issues
• maintain common areas and grounds
• manage supplies and shop organization
• monitor vendors
• follow safety protocols and report hazards.
