What you'll do

• Perform pre-admission intake, physical assessments, and medical-history interviews
• conduct ordered tests such as EKGs and draw blood for lab work as needed
• explain the surgical process and post-surgical care
• manage preoperative admissions
• verify identification and consents
• record vital signs and initiate IVs
• assess postoperative patients, monitor vital signs and IVs, document findings, develop individualized care plans, report condition changes, educate patients and families, determine readiness for transfer, and respond to postoperative emergencies.
