Alarm Technician

The Alarm Technician role is an onsite position based in Burr Ridge, IL. Compensation is not specified for this role, which supports the Securitas Technology department in delivering integrated security solutions. This role exists to provide hands-on experience and training in low-voltage electronic security systems. The technician will participate in a one-year program involving virtual training and mentorship to develop practical skills and prepare for a transition to a technician level.

What you'll do

• Perform preventative maintenance on intrusion, video, access control, fire and integrated systems
• test, inspect and clean equipment
• inspect, test and replace wireless and control panel batteries
• ensure access control devices are working properly
• test and inspect intrusion points
• test communication and backup signals
• test and inspect vaults, safes, and ATMs
• clean and focus video cameras
• document inspections and complete checklists
• contact customers to schedule calls
• escalate problems
• report service ticket data
• interact professionally with customers
• maintain communication with mentors
• organize truck stock parts and tools
• attend training courses
• complete weekly status reports.
